My mediation practice is focused in the divorce and family law field including not only divorce, but also custody, support, parenting plans, same sex relationships, paternity, grandparent visitation, elder law and probate matters. I am available to assist parties statewide. Once agreement is reached, I can prepare all the necessary legal paperwork to bring mediated matters to their conclusion, if the parties so desire.
I believe based on my years of experience that mediation can provide the parties with a reasonable process for resolving some of life's most challenging issues. My goal is to provide the participants in the mediation process with the opportunity to work through their issues with each other in a fair and productive manner.
I have been an attorney in Oregon since 1985. My practice has been focused exclusively on divorce and family law matters since 1989. I have handled all aspects of family law matters including custody, support and property division issues in context of divorce, paternity, domestic partnership and juvenile law matters. I am acutely aware of the costs, both financial and emotional, of divorce and dissolution of partnerships on the individual and their families and the benefits of mediation. I have served as President of the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practioners, an organization comprised of lawyers, judges and mediators that promotes the continuing education and professionalism of lawyers, mediators and judges in the field. I continue to serve on the Board of this organization as the Secretary.
I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers at the national and state level and a member of the Oregon Mediation Association. I served on the Executive Committee of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Oregon State Bar for the past nine years as well as on the Multnomah County Mediation Commission. I have been chosen by both "Superlawyers" magazine and the "Best Lawyers in America" for inclusion in their publications in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution on an ongoing basis. "Superlawyers" has also recognized me as one of the 'Top 25" Women attorneys in Oregon. Last year, I was named as the 2016 Family Law Mediator of the Year in Oregon by "Best Lawyers in America." I continue my mediation training annually and attended a week long course offered by the American Bar Assocation involving the mediation of international family law disputes.
Although professional recognition is appreciated, referrals from clients and other professionals, who I have had the pleasure to work with and for, is the most meaningful feedback I can receive.
